Meet Sinead
Hi, I'm Sinead! I am a former 2nd grade teacher currently following my passion of providing tutoring services to reach children outside of the classroom.
I moved to Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey in 2021 from Boston, Massachusetts. The first year and a half I lived in New Jersey, I worked as a 2nd grade teacher in Westwood Public School District. I stopped teaching in November of 2022 for my maternity leave and decided not to return to the classroom to fulfill my dream of starting my own tutoring business.
When I lived in Boston, I was a 2nd grade teacher for many years in a public school in Brookline, Massachusetts. Prior to teaching 2nd grade, I taught 1st grade in a public school in Newton, Massachussetts. I truly love elementary education and have a lot of experience tutoring in addition to being a classroom teacher.
My goal is for this to be a space where students receive the individualized support they need to grow their knowledge and confidence.
Approach to Learning
There should not be a one size fits all approach to learning. I truly believe that every child is an individual and has their own unique learning style. From the very beginning, I take time to learn and understand your child's style to meet their needs and help them stretch, learn, and grow.
I also believe that life and learning is better when it's FUN! As I work with your child, I find different ways to make learning fun and interactive.
Partnering with Parents
My style is transparent and I value open communication to ensure we are all on the same page working to meet your child's individual goals. I like to communicate regularly with parents to share my perspective and to understand what you're seeing at home.
